How To: Achieve a Higher Frame Rate on a2a1920-165g5m/g5c Cameras#

The a2A1920-165g5m/g5c Basler ace 2 5GigE camera is equipped with a Sony IMX392 sensor.

According to the sensor data sheet, the IMX392 sensor achieves up to 201 fps at full resolution.

However, using the default settings, the Basler camera only reaches a maximum of 168 fps.

This limitation is related to the internal camera architecture and also to the sensor wake up settings. The default sensor bit depth is set to Bpp10 even if the camera pixel format is set to an 8 bit mode.

To achieve a higher frame rate, set the BslSensorBitDepth parameter to Bpp8. With this setting, a frame rate of 193 fps at full resolution can be achieved.
